James "Jim" Bradshaw Obituary

Published by Porter Loring Mortuary North on Jul. 12, 2018.
James "Jim" Robert Russell Bradshaw Sr., age 59, of San Antonio Texas passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018, in Washington D.C. Jim was born on August 12, 1958 in Killeen, Texas to Robert Lee Bradshaw and Leta S. Sigler Bradshaw. He was adopted and raised by relatives Henry "Mutt" Bradshaw and Evelyn Ruby Miller Bradshaw of Lockesburg, Arkansas. Jim grew up in Lockesburg, Arkansas, and graduated from DeQueen High School. He attended the University of Arkansas and Ouchita Baptist University and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Construction Management from Concordia College. He proudly served 12 years as a Seabee in the United States Navy, with tours in Japan, Italy, Guam and Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War. He was also a Navy recruiter during those years. Following his honorable discharge, he continued working in the construction field in various capacities. He leaves behind a successful career with AECOM-Hunt Inc. Jim was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Mutt and Evelyn Bradshaw, his father, Robert Lee Bradshaw; his mother, Leta Bradshaw; and his beloved sister, Loretta Bradshaw. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Christy Bradshaw, and his four sons, James "Buzz" Bradshaw Jr., of Chatsworth, GA, Colby Bradshaw of Genoa, AR, and Conrad and Evan Bradshaw of San Antonio, TX; his four grandsons, Cooper, Hudson, and Inman Bradshaw and Gage Duffey; his brothers, Charles "Chuck" Bradshaw, Ronald Bradshaw, Kenneth Wayne Bradshaw; his half-brother; Scott Bradshaw; and several extended family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, daughters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Jim loved the Lord, his family, his church family, and friends. He never failed to tell or show his family how much he loved them. He was an amazing man who was always providing for and protective of his family. His wife was his best friend and he was hers. He was a great listener, advisor and problem solver. Jim loved to brag on all his sons and grandsons. He was proud of them and loved them unconditionally. Jim had a strong presence along with a gentle and caring soul. He was a generous person to his family and those in need. Jim had a playful spirit and some might say he could be a little ornery at times. He enjoyed his work and those he worked with. He was a man of great character. Jim will be missed, remembered, honored and always loved.
