James Kurt Ehlmann of St. Charles, Missouri died on January 19, 2025. He was the dear husband of Barbara Quinty Ehlmann, the devoted father of Elizabeth Mary Ehlmann Cain and Lendon Elliott Ehlmann, the proud father-in-law of Lute James Cain, and the doting grandfather of Gunnar Harvey Cain. He was the beloved son of the late Harvey Dietrich and Gladys Richterkessing Ehlmann. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald and leaves another brother, Richard (Martha), as well as two sisters, Nancy (Dan) and Gail (Greg). He was raised in St. Charles among a bounty of cousins and always kept them in his heart. He was likewise proud of his nieces and nephews and kept up with their antics and accomplishments. He rejoiced in his friends.
Jim served in the United States Army and is a Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
In retirement, Jim worked for the St. Louis Cardinals as an Event Staff member from 2015 through 2023.
As a member of American Legion Post #312, he was exposed to the philanthropic outreach extended to American veterans in need. Memorials may be sent in his name to: AL Post #312, 4500 Raymond Drive, St. Charles, MO, 63301.
