James (“Jim”) M. Fell, 64, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, passed away at home on February 12 after a progressive chronic illness. Born in Boston in 1961, he was the beloved son of the late Raymond J. Fell and Gertrude E. Fell (Olson) of Braintree, Massachusetts. He is survived by his devoted partner and best friend, Suzette Tavares (Vaudry); his sisters, Marie Tarallo (and her husband Ronald) of Braintree, and Tricia Dandrow of Cohasset; his children, James Fell, Jr., Katie Williamson, and stepdaughter Tara Williamson; his former partner and close friend, Kerrie Williamson; his grandchildren, Skylar, Alice, and Beau; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
A 1980 graduate of South Shore Vocational Technical High School, Jim proudly represented the school on its boys’ gymnastics team, competing in every event — vault, rings, horse, floor exercise, and bars. Jim grew up in South Weymouth and spent his childhood summers on Long Pond in Lakeville and later at South Village Beach in West Dennis. He loved the outdoors whether camping in Nickerson State Park, hiking the mountains of New Hampshire or shooting his bow & arrow or hitting golf balls in the back yard. He spent his career in manufacturing and carpentry before owning and operating a commercial and residential painting business with his devoted partner, Suzette Tavares. A gifted craftsman, he loved sketching, designing, and creating intricate wood carved replicas of Harley Davidson motors, which he sold online and at craft fairs throughout New England.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 19, from 2–4 p.m. at Blanchard Funeral Home, 666 Plymouth Street (Route 58), Whitman, MA. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a service at 4pm in the funeral home.
