James Walker Obituary

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, May 20, 2024, Mr. James Panknin Walker, III, 58.

Jim was a native of Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from Episcopal Day School in Augusta and Christ School in Arden, North Carolina and attended Mercer University. Jim worked as an insurance agent for a number of years with his father at Cohen Walker Insurance Agency. Later, Jim then moved to California and Atlanta where he worked in the carbon fiber industry before moving to Traveler's Rest and back to Augusta. He loved golf, fishing, hunting and UGA football. Jim was a loving father, son and brother.

Family members include his children: Christopher Panknin Walker, Brandon Lewis Walker and Austin Cole Walker; mother: Linda L. Walker; sister: Carole Walker Beutel (Richard); niece Kirsten Beutel and many Walker family members, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father James Panknin Walker, Jr. and brother: Calvin Lyle Walker.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Dr. Bunny Williams officiating. A private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Tee of Augusta, 3165 Damascus Road, Augusta, GA 30909.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. in the church fellowship hall.
