Mr. James Monroe Jones, 86 of Cana, VA, passed away Monday morning October 20, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Fairlawn, VA. He was born December 22, 1938, in Carroll County to the late James Garland Jones and Thelma Edwards Jones. He was a retired truck driver and brick mason. Mr. Jones is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Lori and Mark Robinson, Lishia and Willie Dillon, and Jamie and Ryan Spencer; 11 grandchildren; Westin and Romi Yates, Layton and Star Yates, Easton Yates, Chase and Alyssa Robinson, Kirstin and Channing Lynch, Lucas Spencer, Jacob Spencer, Joni Spencer, Joshua Badgett, Justin Badgett, and Jessica Jones; 8 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen Buck, Sandra Casstevens, Rita and Claude Cabaccang, Mary and Jim Lambert, and Elizabeth Jones; brother, William Jones; special fur buddy, Brownie; and by several other family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by two daughters, Lois Ruth Jones McBride and Linda Jones Lawyer; sister, Brenda Faye Jones Towe; two brothers, Wayne Clarence Jones and Franklin “Frank” Dallas Jones, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Opal Jones and Molly Jones; brother-in-law, Lamon Casstevens; Lori, Lishia, Linda, and Lois’ mother, Ruth Jones; Jamie’s mother, Ann Bryant. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 25, 2025, at 11:00am in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Pastor Gary Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00am at Moody’s. The Jones family would like to give a big thank you to Good Samaritan Advanced Illness Care and Hospice for all of the love, care, and support during his illness. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
