James Harry Jordan, born March 24, 1940 in Henryetta, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on February 19 2026, surrounded by his family at home.
Career and Life Journey
Jim began his professional life working in the oil flelds in Oklahoma. He joined the Boilermaker union in 1967 training in construction. His expertise led him to a position with Dresser Industries as an erection specialist, a role that took him across the country and overseeing major construction projects. Throughout his travels, Jim developed a fondness for the southern United States and decided he wanted to settle in either southern Georgia or northern Florida. In 1992, he and his wife Barbe chose to make their home in Fernandina Beach, Florida, drawn by their shared love for the ocean.
Passions and Hobbies
Jim was an avid outdoorsman highly skilled in archery, hunting and fishing. He also held a charter captain license, reflecting his deep connection to the water and love for the outdoors.
Family and Legacy
Jim was a devoted family man, married to Barbe, the love of his life, for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife Barbe of Fernandina Beach; two sons, James Kent Jordan and his wife Diane of Zion, Illinois, and Raymond Jordan of Grovetown, Georgia. He was also the proud grandfather of three grandsons: Marshall Jordan and his wife Amber of Manhattan, Kansas; Matthew Jordan and his wife Sheila of Chesapeake, Virginia and John Geisselmaier and his wife Pia of St. Augustine, Florida.Three granddaughters: Lisa Bertelli of Wadsworth, Illinois; Kim Johnson and husband Corey of Franksville, Wisconsin: Ashley Arnold, of California. Jim is also survived by his brother Joe Jordan and wife Denise of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, as well as 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Joe David and Theodore Marshall.
Faith and Service
Jim was a spiritual man who placed his full faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was actively involved in the churches he attended, serving in many capacities. His greatest wish was for all of his family members to walk with Jesus. A private service with close friends is pending.
To his family the most valuable gift he gave was his Legacy of his Faith.
