James Robert Keifer, 83, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at his home.

He was born July 30, 1941 in Berwick, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Keifer and Mildred Lehr Keifer. Jim was born the oldest of three, roaming the hills of Pennsylvania most of his early childhood. By his early teens, Jim's family moved to Wilmington, NC becoming part of the community by joining Trinity United Methodist Church. Jim graduated from Wilmington College with a degree in History. His career started as a salesman in the J.C. Penney shoe department retiring as a senior buyer from Schindler Elevator Company in 2005.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Keifer, and a brother, John Keifer.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia S. Keifer; daughter, Lourie K. Cosper and her husband, James; step-son, Joshua S. Walker; three grandchildren, William Cosper and wife, Beth, Kiefer Cosper, Elizabeth C. Kane and husband, Christopher; and great-grandchild, Hewlet Cosper.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 9:30 to 10 am at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10 am in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will be at Lafayette Memorial Park following the service.
