James Patrick Kiley, “Uncle Jimmy” 76 years old, of Solana Beach California, met the good Lord on August 24th, 2024. 

James was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 8th, 1948. He and his family moved to Westwood, CA, then to Canoga Park, Calif and finally to Palm Desert, CA in 1959. He served his country in the United States Army Infantry during the Vietnam War. In 1967, James was wounded in combat. After recovering from his combat injuries, he served the Lord as a Lay Missionary Helper for the Roman Catholic Church. From 1972-1975, he served in the new Nation of Papua New Guinea, “For We Are God’s Helpers.” James worked for the United States Postal Service and retired with over 35 years of service.

James is preceded in death by his parents James George Kiley, Mary Kathryn Mizera Kiley and his sister Patricia (Patsy) Ann Kueber. He is survived by his sister Mary Claire Freeman of Moorpark, CA, his twin brother Richard Robert Kiley of Santee, CA and many nieces and nephews. 

A Rosary and Roman Catholic Mass will be held in honor of James at St. James Church at 10:30 am on Friday September 27th, 2024. St. James Church is located at 625 S. Nardo Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075. Following the mass at 2:15 pm, he will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Miramar National Cemetery is located at 5795 Nobal Dr., San Diego, Ca 92122. Immediately following there will be a gathering of family and friends at St James Parish Hall. James will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace in God’s love and mercy.
