April 1, 1951 - December 17, 2025

James Kilmurray, age 74, of Teaneck, NJ, a devoted partner, father and friend passed away on December 17 while enjoying one of his favorite things, cruising the Caribbean.

James was born to Martial and Dorothy Kilmurray and was raised by them with six siblings in Teaneck, NJ. He worked as a butcher for Pathmark for 30 years and then as a salesman for Cablevision. He enjoyed golfing and fishing until a back injury forced him to give them up. He was passionate about the Giants and the Mets and enjoyed relaxing with a Coors Light.

He was a devoted and loving partner to Chris Frank for over 25 years. They shared a love of traveling having taken over 80 cruises; Aruba and the Panama Canal being his favorite ports.

He was dedicated to helping the veterans' organizations and was the Commander of the Sons of American Legion.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him and will be remembered for his great sense of humor, warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit.

He is survived by his partner, Chris Frank, his children Mark, Jamie and Brian, his sisters JoAnne Bock and Maty Miles (John) and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Dorothy (Polly) and Martial, his brothers Frank, Richard, Thomas and Martial Jr. (MJ) and brother-in-law Nick Bock.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 3, from 2-6 at the American Legion NFW Post, 650 American Legion Dr., Teaneck, NJ 07666.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sons of American Legion at the address above in c/o Keith Wilhelmsen.
