John Wargo Obituary

John A. Wargo, Jr., 76, of Howell Township, formerly of Clifton died Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Born in Passaic, John was a Clifton resident until 2022 when he moved to Howell Township to be near his sister.

John received his BS in Accounting from the University of Miami in Florida where he was active with US Air Force ROTC. He then earned his MBA from Fairleigh University of Teaneck. As a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force he was a navigator on refueling planes and was stationed in bases in California and South Dakota.

John retired in 2017 from Arrow Fastener in Saddle Brook. Previous employment was with Prentice Hall Publishing and International Paper. He enjoyed traveling and with International Paper he was able to travel to England, Scotland, Chile and North Carolina. He enjoyed the desert and tried to go often. He took his two nephews on trips to England, San Francisco and Arizona. He was a member of the Erie Lackawanna Railroad Historical Society and enjoyed reading about World War II and Egypt.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, John A. Wargo, Sr. and Rose (nee Ferarra) Wargo.

Survivors include: his devoted sister, Susan Mirra and her husband, Albert; his two beloved nephews, Albert Mirra, Jr. and his wife, Ashley and Christopher Mirra; his great niece, Julia Miirra and several cousins. John had many friends, especially Sue S., Bennett W. and Bob. The family would like to thank the aides and Marisol of the 3rd Floor of Brandywine Senior Living in Howell Township for their help and support with John.

Memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 pm- 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026 with a Memorial Service at 2:30 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Avenue, Clifton. Funeral Military Honors will follow. Those wishing to express their sympathies may consider a contribution to either the Parkinsons Foudation (www.parkinsons.org) or Salvation Army (www.salvationarmyusa.org)
