James Adam Koneski, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Feb. 4, 2025.
Born Jan. 28, 1944, in Sugar Notch, he was a son of the late Adam and Margaret Wegrzynowicz Koneski. Jim graduated from Marymount High School, and worked at Weis Markets for 30 years as a meat department manager before retiring.
Jim was an avid Philly sports fan with a basement full of memorabilia that would put any museum to shame. He thrived off a diet of homemade McMuffins, cigars and Rolling Stones music. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, Perry Mason and spending time with his family every Sunday during football season to cheer on his Eagles. He looked forward every year to the end of the summer fish fry with his family. Jim was a fantastic, funny and kind man whose passing leaves a large hole in the heart of his family.
His brothers and sisters: Chet, Adam, Bill, Irene and Margie preceded him in death.
His wife of forty years, Dawn; children: Linda (Larry) Havard; Lisa (Rob) Urbanski; Jimmy (Beth) Koneski; Lori (Kel) Lukowich; Brett Koneski; and Stacey (Carrington) Evans; grandchildren: Ryan, Brittany, Alyssa, Amanda, Evan and Ephraim; great-grandchild, Isaiah Lukowich; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends will miss him very much.
Our entire family is grateful for the kindness of the Geisinger and Allied Hospice staff in Wilkes-Barre.
Celebration of Jim's life takes place with visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at McLaughlin's, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. In honor of Jim, we ask that you wear Eagles green or Phillies red.
Donations to the Eagles Autism Foundation are preferred and will honor Jim's memory. Go birds.
