James "Jim" F. Krysztof, a cherished soul known for his kindness and generosity, passed away on July 30, 2025. Born on March 28, 1951, to the late Chester and Anne Krysztof, Jim's life was a testament to the love and dedication he had for his family, his work, and his many passions.

Jim graduated from East Detroit High School in 1970 and furthered his education with college courses at Macomb County Community College. Jim's commitment to serving his country was evident through his four years in the United States Navy. After his service, Jim embarked on a fulfilling career in insurance claims at Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he worked for over 35 years. His wife, Shirley, worked alongside him, forming an unbreakable team for 30 years, both professionally and personally.

James married the love of his life, Shirley, on September 11, 1976. They created a life together for 43 years.

Jim's life was enriched by his loving family; the late Shirley, his daughter, Beverly McClanahan, and his adored grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, Stephan, and Hayley. Jim was the beloved brother to the late Eugene, Marcia Sisman, and the late Donald Krysztof. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

An artist at heart, Jim found joy in painting, drawing, and designing heritage plaques. His creative spirit was a source of inspiration to many. A devoted fan of Detroit sports teams, he cheered with fervor for the Tigers and Lions, embodying the spirit of his city. Music was another of Jim's great loves, and his extensive record collection was a testament to his appreciation for all genres.

Jim's zest for life was evident in his love for travel. Alongside his family, he embarked on countless camping trips and road trips across the country. Disney World, Beaver Creek, and many national parks were among their favorite destinations, creating a tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever.

A visitation for Jim will take place Monday, August 25, from 12pm-8pm. Funeral the following day, Tuesday, August, 26, viewing 10am, until time of service, 11am, at Chas. Verheyden, Inc, 21705 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpoint.
