James Edward Labon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud veteran, left us on October 2, 2025, with his adoring family by his side. James was 90 years old.

James was born in Detroit on October 12, 1934, to Anthony and Mary (Walla) Labon. His life was marked by dedication, hard work, and a profound love for his family.

James served his country with honor in the United States Air Force before returning home to begin a lifelong journey with the love of his life, Janice Sylvia Kelley. On August 23, 1958, Jim and Janice were married in Detroit. Their incredible marriage spanned 67 beautiful years, serving as a foundation of love and commitment for their family.

He dedicated 40 years of his life to General Motors, starting at the Cadillac Fisher Body Plant in Detroit and retiring from the Hamtramck Assembly Center. Outside of work, James was an avid bowler, baseball player, and enjoyed hunting.

James's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Janice; his loving children, Diane Labon, Donna (John) Sylvia, Danielle (Mike) Dixon, James (Cynthia) Labon, and Jeffrey (Nicole) Labon. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his 11 adored grandchildren, Courtney (Vahan), Melissa (Corey), Kelly (Daniel), Ashley (Cameron), Sydney (Erik), Mitchell (Mallory), James, Justin, Jessica, Amanda, Jonathon, and 7 precious great-grandchildren, Evie, Sophia, Ava, Clinton, Elias, Wesley, Asher.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes, Anthony, and Nancy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm with the Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00pm all at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 296 S. Main St.-Romeo, MI 48065. Please share a story or photos on the Memory Page at www.muirfh.com
