James A. Laboy Sr., 38, of Winsted, CT, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 30, 2024.
Born on February 19, 1986, in Hartford, CT, James was a devoted and loving father to his three children: Cadence Blodgett, Bobby Lee, and James A. Laboy Jr., all of Torrington, CT. His children were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He is survived by his mother, Theresa M. Johnson of Winsted, CT; his sisters, Heather M. Foy of Tucson, AZ, and Lindsey A. James had a special connection with his beloved cat, Hemi, and loved spending time with his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, who meant the world to him.
James was predeceased by his father, Jim Laboy; his paternal grandparents; and his maternal grandfather, Edward Foy.
Known for his quick wit and incredible sense of humor, James had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. He loved music, immersing himself in video games, and creating unforgettable adventures through Dungeons & Dragons. His vibrant personality and love for life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
A celebration of James's life will be held in the future at a time to be announced.
James will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with those around him.
