James E. Lasko

James E. "Jim" Lasko, 71, of Herrin, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Helia Healthcare of Energy.
Jim was born August 27, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan to Nicholas Lasko and Patsy (Mathis) Black.
Jim graduated Fruitport High School in 1970 and worked as a machinist for several years before moving to Illinois. He married in 1978 and was blessed with two children. Moving to Lakeland, FL. He worked as a college security guard for ten years. He then moved back to Herrin, IL and worked as a painter until retiring in 2008 due to lung disease.
Jim enjoyed fixing cars as a hobby and was an avid Detroit Lions fan. He enjoyed playing video games with his grandsons and just watching his twin great granddaughters have fun.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lasko of Bush, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Nick & Dawn Lasko of Zeigler, IL; mother, Patsy Black of Spring Lake, MI; two grandsons, Aaron Pyles and Zachary Wallace; four great grandchildren, Journey Pyles, Syndney Pyles, Skylynn Ingersol, and Paisley Wallace; three sisters, Debbie Lasko Burnam, Donna Lewandowski, and Judy Thies; brother and sister-in-law, Paul & Dang Lasko; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Charlie Black; and brother, Robert Lasko.
Jim's wishes were to be cremated; no services are planned at this time.
