James Lassinger Obituary

James Henry Lassinger, 87, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, with his loving family by his side at Forbes Hospice, Monroeville. He was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Natrona Heights, to the late Richard and Mary Frances (Aaron) Lassinger. James lived most of his life in Natrona Heights, where he was a business owner of the Corner Dairy in Brackenridge from 1958 to 1970 and also Jim's Cleaning business from 1994 to present. He also worked for Bob's Kleen Kare Service, Brackenridge. James enlisted in the U.S. Army at Ft. Gordon from 1956 to 1964 and proudly served his country. On Sept. 28, 1970, he married Christine Louise (Stobert) Lassinger, and together they celebrated 55 years. He was a member of the former St. Joseph Church, Natrona, currently Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights. James enjoyed playing solitaire, gardening, yard work, raking leaves and picking up sticks, woodworking, canning, and vacationing with his family at Cook Forest for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Christine L. (Stobert) Lassinger; children, Jayne (Robert) Barch, of Springdale, Michael (Denise) Lassinger, of Cheswick, Dorothy Moxie, of Sarver, George Lassinger, of Springdale, Mandy (Christopher) Mushrush, of Mechanicsville, MD, James (Lorie) Lassinger, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Christine (Dennis) Pallotta, of Pittsburgh, and Sarah (James) McLaughlin, of Leonardtown, PA. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his four-legged best friend, Buddy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Jane Stobert; brother, Richard Lassinger; and sister, Patricia Penn. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, in DUSTER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where a blessing service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a local animal shelter. Visit dusterfuneralhomeinc.com.
