Following his military service, he dedicated many years as a logistics specialist for the Department of Defense and later as a consultant. Beyond his professional life, James was a man of warmth and kindness. He cherished his family deeply and had an unwavering love for them. His affection extended to his beloved cats, who brought him great joy and companionship over the years. He was quite a cat lover.

James leaves behind his devoted wife, Aida (Delgado) Laster, a loving daughter, Tara L. Marcus, her husband, Larry Marcus, and four step-granddaughters. He is also survived by his sister, Lindsey Arnold, and many cousins and friends who will sorely miss his presence and friendship.
