James Lee Obituary
James and Sherian shared a love story that began in high school and spanned more than six decades. Their lives were inseparable from the beginning - "68 plus 3" years, as James lovingly would say. Through every joy and hardship, they remained side by side. Even when James was diagnosed with tuberculosis and lost his full-ride scholarship to the University of Tennessee, Sherian never left his side. They were together three years before marrying on August 3, 1957.
Sherian devoted her career to caring for others as a registered nurse for the entirety of her career. James worked in industry before pursuing his passion as a horse trainer in South Florida, later discovering another talent as accomplished painter.
Together, James and Sherian built a home filled with love, laughter and faith while raising their four children: Jeff Lee, Kathy Weber, Steve Lee, and Nick Lee. They were heavily involved in ministry with James being a deacon at First Baptist Church of Margate.
In retirement, their sense of adventure flourished. They purchased a camper and traveled across the country, reconnecting with family, meeting new friends, and visiting churches wherever they went, and even fulfilling a dream of reaching Alaska.
Ten years later they returned home spending their remaining years surrounded by the family they cherished so deeply. James and Sherian are survived by their four children, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two more on the way.
Their lives leave behind a beautiful legacy of enduring love, strong faith and unwavering devotion to family. Though they will be dearly missed, the love they shared and the family they built will continue to live on through generations.
