James M. Lewis, 73, of Perrysville, OH, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

Jim was born in Mansfield, OH, and spent his life in the Loudonville and Perrysville areas. He graduated from Loudonville High School in 1970. He worked as a laborer at Mansfield Plumbing Products and later at Mohican State Park, where he mowed lawns and performed maintenance work.

Jim had a deep appreciation for nostalgia. He loved sharing memories about his family and life in the area. When flipping through memorabilia or old photographs, he could recall names and vividly recount stories from the past.

A glance at the coat rack in Jim's home revealed many of his passions. There you'd find a Jeff Gordon NASCAR jacket, one honoring the Ohio State Buckeyes, and his favorite-an orange and brown Cleveland Browns jacket. He witnessed the transition from the Indians to the Guardians. He followed Cleveland sports closely, knew the stats, and had his favorite players.

Music brought Jim great joy. He collected guitars and played beautiful tunes-folk, country, and early '70s music were his favorites. In earlier years, he loved attending concerts at Ponderosa Park near Salem, OH.

He also had a talent for refinishing antique furniture, a craft many admired.

Jim is survived by his nieces and nephews: James Schulte of Port Byron, IL; Nichole Thorne of Louisville, OH; Larry Lewis, Jr. of Milford, OH; and DeAnn Snodgrass of Oswego, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Norma; stepfather, Hank Cates; sister, Devon; brother, Larry; and his beloved Aunt Mable and Uncle Howard Myers.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
