James Daniel Long
February 17, 1946 – July 14, 2025
James Daniel Long was born in Chicago, Illinois, and as a child moved to California, where he graduated from Livingston High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Yorktown. After his military service, James settled in Turlock where he worked for Gallo Glass and eventually retired after 30 years.
James had a deep love for the outdoors and spent his free time deer hunting, horseback riding and RV Camping in the mountains and by the ocean with his family and friends, as well as boating and golfing. His adventurous spirit and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Susan; his son Jim (Irma) Long; daughter Jessica (Clay) Gill; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild expected soon. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Durena) Long of Russellville, Arkansas.
James was preceded in death by his parents James & Lorraine Long, and three brothers, Mark, Madeira, and Benchley Long.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Jim was my brother in law for about 24 years. I was married to his brother Mark. We had alot of good times together. I know his other three brothers will be there to meet him on the other side. My heart goes out to his wife Sue and his two children Jimi and Jessica.......RIP Jim
