James LoVullo Obituary
Oct 26, 1952 - Jun 26, 2024
Age 71, formerly of Buffalo, passed away in Missouri, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Buffalo, NY, the son of Sam J. and Florence (Ubaldini) LoVullo. Jim graduated from Bishop Turner High School in 1970. He then moved cross-country to attend Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS on a football scholarship. Upon graduation, he married his dear wife Marcia (Vanover) LoVullo and began a dedicated career in education and coaching, spanning over 40 years. Jim was a devoted father and a doting grandfather who was always generous with his time and attention. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, former students and athletes. Jim was preceded in death by his father Sam J. LoVullo, his wife Marcia (Vanover) LoVullo, and his brother-in-law Bruce Gostomski. He is survived by his daughters Jamie (Dennis) LoCastro and Morgan LoVullo, his grandchildren Marleigh and Brecken LoCastro, his mother Florence LoVullo, his brothers Sam LoVullo, Michael LoVullo, and Thomas LoVullo (Rachel), his sisters Maribeth LoVullo, Lynnmarie Alafnourian, and Tinamarie Gostomski, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Amelia Church in Tonawanda, NY at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5th. A Celebration of Life will be held in Salina, KS in August, following a private inurnment at Gypsum Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greater Salina Community Foundation in honor of the LoVullo family.

Was a great team mate in the old Kensington Football League. I see he had career in coaching. Taking after his father who was one of our coaches along wit Jack Wood and Father Cappola. Well he is now with them in heaven coaching away. Bess you.

Jamie and Morgan your dad was one of the great ones. I'm sure he found great comfort in having you with him these last few months. He would pop into my classroom every so often just to chat or check up on me. He had such a great influence on so so many students. He will be truly missed but remembered well.
