James Lewis Luther

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Lewis Luther, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on November 29, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 19, 1943 in Kingsville, Texas to Douglas and Eldora (Kuester) Luther. Jim lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family. He and Patricia (Fink) were married in 1966 and adopted a son, Joel, and a daughter, Karla.
Jim lived in Holmen, Wisconsin for 50 years where he made countless cherished memories alongside his loving wife, Pat. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and joy. Having earned an associate degree, Jim devoted 20 years of his professional life as a drafter for the Trane Company. He then devoted 20 years to the education sector, serving as a janitor at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District. He was also a volunteer fireman with the Holmen Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. In 2024, they sold their house in Wisconsin, moved to Bulverde, Texas, and built a house on their son's property 17 feet from their son's house. He loved sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and Nascar racing. He also loved working on his 65' Chevy Malibu (Chevelle) and his son's 69' Chevy Nova as well as taking both cars to different car shows.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, of 59 years; his son Joel (Dee Dee) Luther, his grandchildren Trevor and Trent, his sister Sandy Grabski; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Eldora (Kuester) Luther and daughter Karla.
As we gather to honor and celebrate Jim's remarkable life, we invite all who knew and loved him to join us in remembrance. A memorial service will be held at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home on December 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM. This will be a time for reflection, shared stories, and heartfelt tributes to a man who touched the lives of many.
