Our loving husband and father, James Michael Lynch passed away peacefully at home at the age of 88 years old, Friday evening, November 14, 2025, at his residence in Hurst, Texas under hospice care. He was born on December 15, 1936, in Centerville, Texas, and was the oldest son of the late James Durward and Mattie Loula Lynch of Centerville, Texas.

James is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Lois Lynch of Hurst, Texas; his son, Gary Lynch and daughter-in-law, Lora Lynch of Flower Mound, Texas; his brother, Tommy Lynch and sister-in-law, Ruth Lynch of Huntsville, Texas; and his brother, Richard Lynch and sister-in-law, Daryl Lynch of Whitehouse, Texas.

James cherished his many very dear cousins, James Harold Dezelle, Janis Robertson, Greg Wilson, Pam McNamara, Nelda Brooks, Shannon Wilson, and the late Michael Wilson.

James graduated from Centerville High School as valedictorian in 1955, attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and went on to graduate from the University of Texas Austin in 1963, with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.

While attending school in Austin, he met the love of his life, Lois, and they became engaged and married on September 5, 1964.

James began his engineering career in 1963, at General Dynamics in Fort Worth under the B-58 and F-111 programs receiving a distinguished President’s Award for a test systems compiler program. After leaving GD, he formed an engineering consulting business with three former GD engineers called Octal Systems. James’ long and successful career included Management and Director positions at PharmAssist, FoxMeyer, and McKesson Corporations.

Notably from the mid-1970s through early 1980s, James volunteered with the Fort Worth Police Channel 9 Monitor Program.

In 2006, James retired at the age of 70 as the Manager of Corporate Communications with the firm Corporate Express.

As successful as James was in his professional life, he will most be remembered for his extraordinary enjoyment of extracurricular activities he shared with a lifelong collection of many special friends and family members. Whether it be traveling the roads on his motorcycle or in his Prius, camping, swimming, boating, or just swinging in his hammock; an amazing adventure was always assured. James especially loved music, was an avid organ player, and will forever be remembered for his beautiful music. James' laughter and mischievous spirit will long be cherished by all who knew him.

Special friends and family include his sister-in-law, Marilyn Posey and brothers-in-law, George Posey and Arthur Zenkner; and lifelong friends, Michaelene Baker, Mrs. Talley and family, and Ken and Linda Gibson. James had an extraordinary collection of closest friends spanning nearly seventy years which includes Frances Richards, the late Jim Richards, the late Barbara Richards and their entire family, and the late Dr. Charles Lewis and especially our dearest Ellen Baskerville.

A special note of GRATITUDE to the entire Team of HOSPICE Professionals from Community Healthcare of Texas (CHOT) and Our Amazing "Angel" CAREGIVERS (*Krislyn, Kizzie, Cynthia A, Zakiyah, Nicole, Henrietta, Jessica, Cynthia T and Lucy) for providing such phenomenal care of James (and Lois) & supporting our entire family during these past several months … and beyond.

And finally, to our daughter-in-law, Lora:

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your time, talent, energy, and devotion in coordinating everything to keep our family promise: that we Stay HOME, Stay TOGETHER, Stay SAFE, and AT PEACE. Your kind, gentle compassion, fierce determination, and unwavering dedication continues to be a true blessing to our family.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2 P.M. at the Centerville Cemetery, followed by a reception at the First United Methodist Church in Centerville, Texas.
