Lesley Earle Hammonds

Lesley Earle Hammonds, a treasured soul and a beacon of compassion, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026. Born in Houston, Texas, on March 27, 1964, Lesley lived a life that was as vibrant and inspiring as her favorite Aerosmith song, "Dream On." She was a loving daughter, a loyal sister, and a deeply generous individual whose life was characterized by an intense love for Rock and Roll and a steadfast dedication to helping those less fortunate. She attended the following schools Longview High School, Sam Houston State University which she earned her Bachelor's degree.

As a devoted social worker for the state of Texas until she retired in 2004, Lesley spent her career serving others with heartfelt compassion and generosity. Her dedication to her work was only surpassed by the love she had for her family and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. Despite her many professional accomplishments, Lesley always considered her greatest achievement to be the birth of her niece, a moment that brought immense joy and pride into her life.

Lesley is survived by her sister, Katrina Shinn-husband Mike Shinn, niece Andrea Shinn, nephew Dustin Shinn-wife Kathryn Shinn, great niece Ara Shinn, aunt Jan Williams,

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leslie Hammonds and Sylvia Petty. Lesley's absence will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will continue to live on through the memories and stories shared by those who loved her.
