Herman Hammonds

Herman Hammonds was born on December 15, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to the late Josephine Hammonds and R.B. Hammonds. He lived a life rooted in faith, love, and unwavering devotion to family.

On August 26, 1975, Herman united in marriage with Sonjia Hammonds. Together, they shared a beautiful life and were blessed with two daughters. Herman found his company, H & H Remodeling, in the mid-1980s. As a master contractor, he built and remodeled homes throughout the Houston area and proudly built his family home in 2020.

Herman was a brilliant, kind, and wonderful man - the true rock of his family. He never met a stranger and was always ready with wise counsel, encouragement, and a helping hand.

Herman found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love for hunting, fishing, and cooking, and he cherished time spent surrounded by family and friends. His presence, profound wisdom, and heartfelt advice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Herman leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sonjia Hammonds; his daughters, Qawanna Graves (Walter) and Nikia Collins (Christopher); his beloved granddaughter, Christion Collins; his father, R.B. Hammonds; his brothers, Ricando Hammonds, Micheal Hammonds (Carla), and Donald Hammonds (Lisa); his sisters, Pamela Hickman (James), Annette Lewis (Melvin), Jannette Hammonds, Dannette Hammonds; his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Hammonds; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Hammonds; and his brother, Roy Hammonds.
