Charles Teel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klein Funeral Home - CyFair - Northwest on Feb. 18, 2026.
Charles Henry Teel, born November 11, 1935, in Neuville, Texas, passed away leaving a legacy of faith, service, and a loving spirit.

Born to a sharecropper's family during the recovery years of the Great Depression, Chuck's life was shaped by the belief that "hard work never hurt anybody." He proved that philosophy true throughout his 90 years. He gave his life to Jesus at the age of five, forming a heart devoted to service, stewardship, and selfless determination.

Chuck graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1954 and chose to serve his country in the United States Air Force. While home on leave, he met the love of his life, Berdenia Sue Beckett - a spirited, cheerful young gal from Texarkana. They married in 1957. After transitioning to civilian life, Chuck began his engineering career at RCA. The couple settled in Spring Branch, Texas, where they built a life grounded in faith, laughter, and love while raising five children who were the pride of Chuck's life.

Chuck's favorite pastime was improving or repairing the world around him. He believed conversation was the best form of entertainment - no fees and no cover charge required. He never met a stranger and showed genuine compassion, especially for the less fortunate. His humor was dry, and he loved a good laugh. A true doer, he believed if something was going to be done right, he'd better do it himself. And no one could ever pull the wool over Chuck's eyes - he read every line of the fine print.

His legacy is one of faithful service to God, family, neighbor, and country. His steady principles and his deep love for family will be greatly missed but never forgotten by those who knew him.

Dad, thank you for showing us what faith looks like in everyday life - steadfast, humble, and strong. Thank you for the sacrifices no one saw, the lessons you lived more than you spoke, and the love that still holds us together. We will carry your stories, your values, and your laughter with us. Until we see you again, we will keep loving and trusting God - just like you taught us.

Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Berdenia Sue Teel; his daughter: Sherrill Ann Trammell; his parents: Eligah Homer Teel and Sola Teel; his brothers: Adron and E.H.; his sister: Lucille.

He is survived by his children: Sterle Coker with husband Wayne; Charles Douglas Teel; Brandon Teel with wife Lana; and Shanda Henley with husband Marc. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Nicholas Coker with wife Laine; Hannah Baca with husband Coety; Collin Henley; Ashlynn Henley; Conran Teel; Emma Teel; and Phoebe Sola Teel; and his great-grandchildren: Paige Coker; Lucy Coker and Elle Coker.

Special love and thanks are extended to his treasured caregivers who became family: Marcos and Carla Alvarenga, Daniel Alvarenga, and Melanie Guadron.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Bayou City Fellowship Cypress, 12715 Telge Road, Cypress, Texas 77429. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.
