James Archibald MacLeish III, 84 of Howell, passed away May 10, 2025 at Village Manor in Howell. James was born on March 3, 1941 in Detroit to the late Lauretta (Allen) MacLeish and James Archibald MacLeish II. Jim was a loving father, husband, avid big game hunter and outdoorsman. Jim's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior was his guiding light throughout his life.
Surviving Jim are his children Joan MacLeish, James (Cindi) MacLeish IV and (Tadd) Jill Lewis. Grandchildren Erin MacLeish, Rachel MacLeish, James MacLeish V, Tyler MacLeish and Alexi Lewis; and his brother Dan (Joyce) MacLeish. James was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Val MacLeish; daughter Janis MacLeish, and granddaughter Tara Lewis.
A celebration of life to be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at 3447 Mayberry lane in Howell, Mi. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Camp Michawana, 6475 Wilkins Road, Hastings MI, 49058 or online at https://michawanacamp.org/donate/.
