Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home - Braintree on Dec. 17, 2025.
James M. Macozek, of Braintree, a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 18, 1964, in Boston, James's life was one of unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit.
The son of the late John and Margaret (Ennis) Macozek, James grew up in a home filled with warmth and strong family values. These early experiences shaped the wonderful man he would become. He was the beloved husband of Aracelly Macozek, and together they built a life full of joy and mutual respect. His role as a loving father was exemplified in his relationship with his daughter, Andrea Macozek of Braintree, whom he adored with every fiber of his being.
James was a cherished JahJoh to his grandson, Ethan James Macozek, and took immense pleasure in his grandfatherly duties, imparting wisdom and laughter in equal measure. His siblings, Anne Marie Macozek of Fall River, Ellen M. Macozek of Braintree, Karen A. Macozek Yoho and her late husband Manford of SC, William T. Macozek of MN, and the late John J. Macozek, will remember him as a devoted brother who was always there to lend an ear or a helping hand. His extended family, including several nieces, nephews, and friends, will miss his thoughtful presence and his ability to make each person feel uniquely special.
James was a proud graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, Class of 1982, and he carried the lessons learned there throughout his life. His pursuit of education continued at Merrimack College, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree, further equipping him for a successful career in business. As the owner of J-Mac Building Specialties, Inc, a Distributor of quality, concrete, restoration, sealants, water proofing and buildings materials for more than three decades, James was respected for his integrity and work ethic. He worked on many mega projects along the east coast, including the Big Dig in Boston. He was fondly known as JMAC. As much as he was well known and respected by large contractors, he never forgot the small contractors. His colleagues and associates will remember him as a fair and honest businessman who always put people first. Not only was he a manufactuer's representative but a dear friend to many. Always willing to go out to dinner or to a Bruins game. One that was available 24/7, and could be counted on to assist a contactor at any time.
Beyond his professional achievements, James was a man who truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and his kindness and thoughtfulness extended beyond his home to all he encountered. James's interests were many, but it was the simple pleasures in life, like a shared meal or conversation, that he valued most.
James was the embodiment of what it means to be loving and kind. His thoughtful nature was evident in everything he did, from the way he ran his business to the manner in which he nurtured his relationships. His legacy is one of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness-a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
As we say goodbye to James, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who cherished him, and his spirit will continue to be a guiding light for his family. James's life was a testament to the beauty that can be found in everyday kindness and the enduring power of love. He will be deeply missed, but his influence will remain, a lasting tribute to a life of exceptional warmth and generosity.
