James "Jimmy" Newton Magee, 63 of Tylertown, MS passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 at Walthall County General Hospital. Jimmy was a family man who never failed to let those he loved know it every single day. He often referred to his wife Lisa as "my Lisa" who he spent 13 amazing years with. Their love was a once in a lifetime. He also loved his kids and grandkids fiercely and never missed a single event no matter what or where. He spent many evenings taking rides with his dog Chewy. He was the quintessential example of a present father and grandparent. From the time he was 10 years old he had a job and worked hard. He dedicated 39 years to his family at Jones working with his "boys" as he liked to call them. To call these men his friends would be an understatement, these men were his family. Jimmy was a man most people looked to for guidance or maybe just a listening ear. His light shined bright and he cast love on everyone he met.

A celebration of life service will be held at Tylertown Baptist Church on December 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM followed by fellowship with the family until 1:00 PM. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Bowman Magee; and brother, Joey Magee.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Wood Magee; son, Taylor Magee (Ashley); daughters, Clancey Bedwell (Drew) and Lauren Thomas; grandchildren, Kage Bedwell, Layton Magee, Keaton Bass, Livie Magee, and Karter Bedwell; along with a host of loving family and friends.
