James "Jim" Dean Markle, 65, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born in Perryton, Texas on April 19, 1959, to Ernest and DeAnna (Johnson) Markle.
Jim graduated from Salina Central in 1977, he then began a career with his father at Stress-Cast, Inc. At 21, Jim moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to start Tulsa Dynaspan with his brother, Dave.
On June 27th, 1981, Jim married Renee Rochelle Reed, in Salina, Kansas.
After starting their family, Jim and Renee, with their children Matt and Lindsey, moved back to Salina where Jim rejoined his father at Stress-Cast, eventually becoming owner.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting and fishing at 'Thy Pit', watching the Chiefs, and cheering on his granddaughters playing sports.
Survivors include his wife, Renee; son, Matt Markle (Stephanie) of Salina, Kansas; daughter, Lindsey Frank (Cody), of Salina, Kansas; mother, DeAnne Markle, of Lakeway, Texas; two brothers, Taylor Markle (Debbie), of Shawnee, Kansas, and David Markle, of Lakeway, Texas; sister JeanneAnne Porter (Steve), of Lakeway, Texas.
He is also survived by 5 granddaughters, Alexa, Kezli, Brynlee, Tayli, and Fenli.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Markle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 8th, at CrossPoint Church in Salina, Kansas with Pastor Ryan Booth officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southeast of Saline Education Foundation in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.
