James Joseph Marshall of Gaylord, Michigan, sadly passed away at the age of 90 on September 1, 2025. Jim was born on October 21, 1934, to Melvin and Agnes Marshall and was raised in Lapeer, Michigan.
Jim was a bright young man, who upon high school graduation from Lapeer high school joined the United States Air Force. After his time in the military Jim went to work for General Telephone Company for 35 years, upon retiring he went on to work at Treetops as a starter on the Jones Course for several years, because of his love of the game of golf. Jim loved playing golf, he also loved to read and enjoyed watching Fox News in his later years.
Jim was a true family man who loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Linda Lea Marshall, his children: Jennifer (Mike Dann) Marshall of Lexington, KY., Jacklyn (Joshua) Cline of Charlevoix, MI., and James (Colleen) Marshall of Gaylord, MI., his grandchildren: Cheyanne Dann, Shay Dann, and Brayden Marshall, his siblings: William Marshall, Charles (Chuck) Marshall, Sue Bennett, Brenda Racine, Judy Hunt, and sister-in-law Juanita Marshall. James is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. Not to forget, Jim is also survived by his best friend Doug Rose and his wife Grace.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Agnes Marshall, his brothers Bob and Ed Marshall, and his sister Jeanette Lane.
