James Edgar Mathis was born in Detroit Michigan on January 16, 1945 to the late Evelyn Mathis Mays and Hubert Buckner . He gained his wings on Thursday March12, 2026.
James worked for E.R. Snell Construction for 42 plus years. He was a dedicated and hard worker. Everyone that ever known him, knew he had a big heart and took care of many people besides just his family. He went above and beyond for people.
He is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Gloria Colbert and Evelyn Burch; one brother Willie Henry Mays; one grandchild Jamarion Johnson .
He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter Tatrabianne Davis and a son Brian Davis; two sisters Dorothy Brantley and Mary Walton ; two brothers Clouis Colbert and Kenny Colbert six grandkids Naasir Davis, Jasmine Mitchell, Jaiden Mitchell, Jada Mitchell, Amarion Johson, Marquis Davis; two very close stepdaughters Shonya Evans and Carolyn Evans; A very special devoted friend Lula Lewis; two god granddaughters Olympia High and Jimmiel High which he cared for deeply; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends
