James Mayfield Obituary
James an only child was born on August 10, 1952 to James Dosey Mayfield and Ada Bratcher Mayfield who preceded him in death.
James was raised in Statesville in the home of his maternal grandparents John and Lizzy Bratcher and the home of his maternal aunt Rosie Bratcher after the early death of his mother. James also resided in Morganton, NC for several years before returning to Statesville.
James is survived by his cousin/guardian Cynthia N. (George) Clark of Statesville, NC. First cousins Robert (Joann) Bratcher of East Spencer, NC; Irene Mull Abernathy and Emma Mull both of Hickory, NC. James is also survived by a host of other cousins, friends, Church family and all the special people who worked with James to help make his life better.
James loved family and attending the Bratcher Family reunions. He loved all people, especially pretty girls. He loved attending church, dancing, shooting basketball, shooting pool and bowling which he was pretty good at. He prided himself on always looking good and having a clean home. James will be greatly missed.
