JAMES MCCARTHY Obituary

McCARTHY, James J. Of Marshfield, MA, passed away on June 17, 2021 at his home in Marshfield at age 76. A beloved and true family man, he leaves his children, Kira Washburn and her husband Brad of Norwell and James "Jamie" McCarthy of Marshfield, siblings Karen Stiffler and her husband David of Concord, Bernadette McCarthy of Yarmouth, Daniel McCarthy and his wife Martha of Marshfield, and Susan McCarthy of South Yarmouth, grandchildren Harrison and Cortland Washburn, and his former wife Catherine (Kirrane) McCarthy. James was born in Brookline, the eldest son of James (Jim) and Margaret McCarthy. He was raised in West Roxbury along with his 4 siblings and attended Boston English High School. He enjoyed playing sports throughout his life and rooting for the Boston Sports teams. He raised his family in Norton and retired to Marshfield. He loved living at the beach and made many friends wherever he went. Spending time with family and friends was his greatest joy. Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, MARSHFIELD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Road to Responsibility, Jamie's House, 1831 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA 02050.
