James McClure Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Mar. 30, 2026.
James Milton McClure, 79, passed away on March 19, 2026, after a brief illness.

Jim was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Milton Wilson McClure and Ruth Knotts McClure. He was a graduate of Messick High School and devoted the majority of his career to Coca-Cola, where he worked in sales management.

Jim was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his dry sense of humor and quick wit, always ready with a zinger and never missing an opportunity to make those around him laugh. He especially enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, or just walking in the woods.

He will be remembered most for his dedication to his family.

Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet McClure; his daughter, Kellye and son, Mark (Sylvia); his granddaughters, Elise, Lillian, and Bella; his siter, Anita Price (Chris), and his lifelong, childhood friend, Bill Dunlap. He also leaves behind his loyal, four legged companion, Katie, the Labrador.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Bob" McClure, and his sister, Christie Christofferson.

A celebration of life visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Peabody Room, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
