James Albert "Jim" McCormick, 94, of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

James was born on January 27, 1931, in Henagar, AL, to the late, John Deckerd and Minnie (Parker) McCormick. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim proudly worked as a truck driver for Prax Air Corp. and Linde Corp. He loved to fish anywhere he could put a pole in the water and enjoyed working and took pride in his yard. He was a longtime member and deacon at Anchor of Hope Baptist Church in Rossville.

James was also preceded in death by his brother, John Deckerd McCormick; and sister, Edna Mae Knight.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pearl McCormick; his children, Diana McCormick Coleman, James Albert McCormick, Jr., and Dennis Christopher (Courtney) Armstrong; his many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Anchor of Hope Baptist Church in Rossville, GA. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga where the U.S. Army will perform military honors. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
