James Lynn “Jim” McCoy, age 56, of Ft. Duchesne, Utah, passed away September 30, 2025 from a heart attack.
He was born September 25, 1969, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ralph and Jennifer Ann Decker McCoy. He has been together with the love of his life, Teresa H. Alvarado, for the last 34 years.
Jim worked at Easton making aluminum bats, Burton Lumber where he was a fork lift driver, and he drove truck for Jim Nebeker Trucking. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and was constantly building and changing his model train set. He really liked his 4-wheelers and 3-wheelers and would race them and have fun on them – he often took the kids on the back and jumped the train tracks. He was a simple person who loved his family, and was especially protective of his children.
Jim is survived by his children, Santiago Alverado; Joe Alverado (Amy Davis); Wynter (Kyle) Hunting; Lane (Raelee) McCoy; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchildren; sister Sherice McCoy; 2 nieces, and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his step-dad, Miles Kay; parents; nephew, Terry McCoy; in-laws, Junena Hansen & Fred Hansen.
Per his wishes, he was cremated.
