James David "Dave" McKenzie, 54, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on November 13, 2025. Born on February 18, 1971, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Dave was a lifelong resident of Florida- a place he cherished deeply.

Dave was known for his love of the outdoors, often riding his bicycle or spending time at the beach. He wasn't just passionate about the sun and sand; Dave was also a gifted welder. His talent with a welding torch allowed him to express his talent and creativity in countless ways, marking him as a true craftsman. With a larger-than-life personality, he was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and unmatched generosity. He would give his last dollar to anyone in need.

Dave is survived by a loving family, including his children, Ashley (Alvin), Cody (Jordan), Jessica, Brendan (Madison), and Colton; grandchildren, Mia, Sofia, Ava, Noah, and Kameron; and his sister, Candy Evans (Mike). He also leaves behind his former wife, Gina, with whom he shared a lifelong devotion to their family and continued, supportive friendship. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Karen McKenzie.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 22, from 2 - 4 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, where family, friends, and those touched by his life can share memories and celebrate the man who took full advantage of everything life had to offer. Dave's legacy of creativity, love for his family, and his joyous embrace of life's simple pleasures will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
