James Earl McKenzie, 73, husband of Sheryl Kaye McKenzie, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was surrounded by love and leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply.

Earl was born on July 8, 1952, in Kingstree, South Carolina. A faithful Christian, Earl lived his life guided by his love for God and his commitment to his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a steady presence whose kindness and faith touched everyone who knew him. He was always willing to help anyone, never hesitating to lend a hand. Earl loved his fur babies dearly and found joy in their constant companionship.

Earl spent his working years as a career mechanic and machinist, taking pride in his skill, strong work ethic, and the honest labor he provided for his family. He was deeply patriotic and carried a respect and love for his country throughout his life.

Earl is predeceased by his father Harold Samuel McKenzie; a brother, Samuel McKenzie; and a nephew, Scott McKenzie.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 45 years are; his loving mother, Virginia Spring McKenzie; his daughters, Angela (Chris) Williams of Fort Mill and Bridget (Michael) Tinker of Tampa, FL; four beloved grandchildren, Caleb and Abigail Williams, Emmy and Eli Tinker; a nephew, Lonnie McKenzie; and a niece, Lynn McAllister.

Earl had many friends and a large extended family, and he cared greatly for his neighbors, always ready with a smile, a conversation, or help when it was needed.

His legacy of love, faith, hard work, patriotism, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Northwest Chapel of Greene Funeral Home, visitation will take place prior from 10:00a.m – 11:00a.m. Burial, directed by Greene Funeral Home, will follow at Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road with Rev. Dr. Jacob T. King, officiating.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.
