James Robert Meier, age 73, of Milledgeville, Georgia, passed away following a brief illness on August 15, 2025. He was born in Milledgeville, Georgia on October 31, 1951, to the late Homer Neal Meier, Sr. and Marjorie Scott Meier.

Robert graduated from Baldwin High School in 1970. He attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran, GA, earning his associate's degree. Robert then graduated from Georgia College (Milledgeville, GA) with his Batchelor of Science degree in Chemistry. While at Georgia College, he met and late married Elizabeth Williams (Beth), and together they shared many wonderful years of marriage. Robert and Beth enjoyed spending time together as well as celebrating special occasions with family and friends. He also had a love for Lake Sinclair, enjoying boating, swimming, and being with family. He also has an interest in woodworking and electronics, which began during his early years, earning his Eagle Scout badge, and continued through the years.

Robert served as a corporate officer with M&M Clays, Inc., utilizing his background and knowledge in Chemistry. He was respected for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic.

He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Milledgeville for many years, where he found joy in worship and service alongside his church family. Robert was known by all as a kind and gentle man of faith.

Robert is survived by his brothers, Homer Neal Meier, Jr., Wilbur Scott Meier (Mary), and Gary Wright Meier (Joyce). He was a proud uncle to Gary Meier, Jr. (Teresa), Rose Booker (Scott), Neal Meier III (Kristin), Jori Acosta (Jacob), Jesse Nirenburg (Michael), and Crystal Johnson, and a great-uncle to Ava, Zula, Clara, and Lavinia Booker, Joe, Grady, and Iris Meier, Carly Johnson, Vivian Nirenburg, and Clark Acosta. Robert was loved by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21st at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 at Moores Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted but friends who wish may make memorial contributions to First Baptist Church P.O. Box 795 Milledgeville, GA 31059.

Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
