James David Messer

James David Messer 1982- 2025 James passed unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family. James graduated from East High School, has an associate's degree from LCCC, worked as a fencing contractor, CNA/MA, Realtor, and Barber. Known for his big personality and even bigger heart, James lived with passion, was gifted in design and ingenuity, and had unwavering love for his family and friends. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, music of all kinds, especially the Grateful Dead, and he was a talented barber.

Above all, James was a devoted father. His four children were his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. He never met a stranger, loved hearing people's stories, and will be remembered for his unforgettable smile, laugh, and generous spirit.

James is survived by his soulmate Danniell; mother Marlene Dunn (Bob); children Eleccia Wharton (Sam), Bryson Stierle, James Hudson, and Ella Mae Ruby Messer; sister Genevieve Sigward; and many beloved relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Jim Messer; niece Shaila Sigward; and grandparents; the Ehmkes of Colorado and the Messers of Kentucky.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater, 1615 Central Ave, Cheyenne. Come share stories, play cribbage, poker, and enjoy a soup buffet. Sides are welcome. Sober event.
