Robert (Jeff) Jefferey Armstrong, 78, of Cheyenne passed at home on February 11, 2026, with his wife, Kathy, at his side. He was born on July 19, 1947, in Seattle, Washington to Robert Harold and Alleyn Marjorie (Nielsen) Armstrong.

Jeff graduated from Rancho High School, Las Vegas, Nevada in May of 1965. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1969 as an aircraft mechanic while serving in Viet Nam. That is where his “love” of flying developed. He held several flying positions after his enlistment was over: flight instructor in Greeley, Colorado in the early ‘70s; in Casper, Wyoming he flew for Casper Flying Service; Denton Brothers as a Captain on a Cessna 500 jet until 1982; he flew for Mini Mart for about a year and then with the State of Wyoming, flying single and twin engine planes and turbo prop twins. His last position, until retirement was with Net Jets. Aside from family and flying he loved elk hunting and was very active in making sure that the 2B Cattle Ranch, homesteaded by his great-grandparents (Picard) in the 1800’s was well cared for.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters - Kristin (Zack) Zemp, Ashland, Kansas - grandchildren- Holden and Bridger and Alleyn (Kevin) Burton, Peoria, Arizona and granddaughter Maris, sister - Carolyn (Bill) Jenkins, Brazil, IN and brother - Jerry (Sheila) Armstrong, Okemos, Michigan, step-brother - Tony Armstrong, Columbia Falls, Montana, stepsister - Diana Armstrong, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by: his grandparents: HT and Genevieve Armstrong, Yakima, Washington, Jack and Marjorie (Darling) Nielsen, Hoodsport, Washington; parents - Robert and Alleyn Armstrong, Las Vegas, Nevada; step-mother - Nancy Armstrong, Columbia Falls, Montana; Jeff’s first wife - Margret (Forde) Armstrong, Cheyenne, Wyoming and older brother - David Michael Armstrong, Lakewood, Washington.

At Jeff’s request there will be no services following his cremation.
