James Owen "Jim" Miggins

James Owen Miggins, 81, of International Falls, Minnesota died on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Ranier Roost.
Jim was born on May 30, 1944, in International Falls to Owen and Margaret (Johnson) Miggins.
He graduated from Falls High School in 1962, followed by earning a bachelor's degree in forestry from the University of Minnesota in 1967.
Jim was promoted to Sergeant First Class E-7 in the U.S. Army Reserves in 6 years.
After working at Boise Woodlands for 25 years, he ran his own real estate business until retiring in 2008. He was an active landowner and was awarded the Minnesota NE Region Tree Farmer of the year in 2014.
Jim's favorite places to spend his time were at his hunting shack or in his fish house, "The Pout House" on Rainy Lake. Family was very important to Jim, including being his wife, Kathy's full-time caregiver for 11 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Kathy (Reuter) Miggins; and parents, Owen and Margaret.
Jim is survived by his sons, Cory Miggins and Brook (Brackin) Miggins; daughter, Ashley (Bill) Germain; six grandchildren, Cole (Mikaela) Miggins, Libby Miggins, Carter Germain, Jaxon Germain, Kempton Miggins, and Kannon Miggins; and his brother, Bill (Laurie) Miggins.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
