James R. "Jim" Miller, 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on September 5, 2024, Jim proudly served as a firefighter for the city of Ft. Wayne for over 26 years. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Judith (Andorfer) Miller; sons, James R. (Reyne) Miller Jr. and Andrew (Carrie) Miller; grandchildren, James R. Miller III, Michael L. Miller, and Alyssia R. Thaxton; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn (Richard) Graft, Susan Shepherd, John (Joan) Miller, Joseph Miller, Geoffrey "Jeff" (Sally) Miller, and Paula Brauner; and several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia K. Lee; brother, Gerald (Barbara) Miller; and his parents, Lloyd and Virginia (Craighead) Miller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd (46825) with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will also be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. (46805).
