James Avery Miller

James Avery Miller of Powell passed away at the age of 85 on 2/11/25 in Knoxville. He was born in Knoxville on 8/6/39. James was a beloved son, husband, brother, father and grandfather.He enjoyed fishing, playing horse-shoes, car shows and cheering for the Tennessee Vols. He was the co-founder, along with wife Jackie, of the Knoxville Historical Society and the publisher of Knoxville Yesteryear Magazine.He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Katherine Miller, brother William, and former wife, Jackie. He leaves behind son Randy and daughter-in-law Renee, two daughters, Toni, Jamie, and son-in-law Mike. He also leaves behind beloved grandchildren Charlsey, Corey and Madison, and great grand-daughter, Gloria.The family is assisted by Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel of Knoxville.
