James C. "Jim" Mills

James C. "Jim" Mills was a proud and life-long Chicagoan, beloved husband for 33 years of Lois Zoller, nee Swartzberg; loving father of Robin (Stuart Walker) Mills, Wendy (Mark Habeeb) Mills, and Jason (Nicole) Mills: cherished stepfather to Lois' children, Danny (Amy) Zoller and Michael (Marcy) Zoller; adored grandfather of Noah (fiancée Victoria Gibson) Habeeb, Caden Mills, Chloe, Jack, Ryan, Jade, Paige, and Phoebe Zoller; devoted son of the late Cyril and the late Frances Mills; dear brother of Carol (Lee Saldinger) Mills Saldinger; treasured uncle and friend to many. Jim was lovingly cared for by Ginger, Brenda, Mark, Mae, and Marianne.

Jim led a full and varied life in broadcasting, entrepreneurship, international marketing, and philanthropy. After graduating from Northwestern University in 1956, he served in the U.S. Army's Radio-TV division, where he hosted the talk show Star Time and interviewed some of the era's most prominent entertainers. Jim co-founded JMP-Newcor, a company that designed and imported tableware that was sold by major retailers across the country. He later founded Masterpiece Editions; the worldwide licensee of the Pablo Picasso Estate for high-end ceramics and glassware that was marketed to stores and museum shops. Jim served as Board Chair of the GI Research Foundation and the Council on Jewish Elderly. Personally, Jim had impeccable taste and enjoyed nothing more than sharing a meal with family or friends, who cherished his magnanimous personality, kindness, and generosity. Jim was a long-time member of the Bryn Mawr Country Club, Lincolnwood, IL and Tamarisk West Country Club, Rancho Mirage, CA. Service Sunday, 11:00 a.m. CT at the Rosehill Mausoleum Chapel, 5800 N. Ravenswood Ave., Chicago. Jim's service will be livestreamed on his webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
