Mr. James H. “Buck” Monroe Sr., 80 of 46 Grimes Singletary Rd, Tar Heel, NC departed this life on Thursday September 5, 2024 at Lower CapeFear Life Care in Whiteville, NC.
He was born in Bladen County, NC on July 1, 1944, a son of Howard Monroe and Berline Smith Monroe.
Buck was a hardworking devoted husband, father, brother, son and grandpa. He dedicated his life to the Lord and would help anyone in need.
He is preceded in death by parents, Howard and Berline Monroe, his son James H. Monroe Jr., his brothers William Monroe and George Monroe, and his sister Mary Alice Monroe.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda F. Monroe of the home; his children, Angeline Hall (Bill) of Tar Heel, Matthew Monroe (Julie) of Lumberton, Victoria Liles of Mobile Al., Christopher Monroe (Ginny) of Tar Heel, Candy Watson (Robert) of Tar Heel, and James Phillp Monroe (Paige) of Tar Heel; his sisters Linda Devane (Vernon) of White Oak, Melba Gooden of Georgia and Ann Nunnery (Larry) of Tar Heel; Multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
