James (Jimmy) Moore, 72, of Ronceverte passed away Saturday August 30, 2025 after a short illness. He was born October 6, 1952 in Ronceverte.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Ellen Moore Walker; grandmother Nancy Ann Moore and his father Percy Payne.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Gail Alport; his two children, Angela Moore and Geoffrey Moore; two step children, Patrick Bell (Kellie) and Barbie Robinson (Matt); grandchildren, T'Keisia Marshall, Clayton Robinson, Christian Robinson, Caden Robinson, Evan Thornton and Melody Thornton; great grandchildren, Jahquan Purdue and Myles Thornton; sisters Margaret Flynn and Mary Winkfield (Clint); brother Norman (Jr.) Walker; aunt Mildred (Bunny) Toliver and her son Paul Toliver and a host of cousins, nephews, sisters in law brother in laws and friends.

Jimmy is retired from B. F. Goodrich after working 37 years, he loved his family and friends dearly. Jimmy loved the outdoors. His hobby was taking in stray cats and caring for them. Jimmy was a huge sports fan. He loved football, basketball and watching westerns.

Jimmy was saved July 28, 2025 and baptized on August 1, 2025.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 4, 2025 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Lewisburg at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ronald Sherrod officiating and special speaker Aaron Trigg. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 PM until time of services. Interment will follow the services at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Sinks Grove.
