James Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis-Watkins Funeral Homes & Crematory - Miramar Beach on Feb. 11, 2026.
James Daniell Moore, aged 82, of Miramar Beach, FL, passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2026. He was the cherished husband of 41 years to Luz Maria, lovingly known as Chiqui.

Born in 1943 to Wilfred and Winifred Moore in Georgia, James grew up surrounded by family. In 1949, the Moore family settled in Villa Rica, GA, to be closer to relatives. James remained in Villa Rica for many years, pursuing his passion for cars, continuing his education, and working in his community.

In 1985, James married Luz Maria, his true love. They lived next door to his mother, with James caring for her until her passing in 1998. James and Chiqui shared a love for travel and experiencing the world together.

In 2003, James and Chiqui relocated to Miramar Beach, FL, where they opened and successfully operated a small business. James was widely respected for his strong, honest work ethic, and his compassionate nature touched everyone he met. He was known for spreading joy, ensuring those around him felt comfortable and happy. His warm greetings, genuine smile, quick wit, and gentle demeanor made a lasting impact and will be deeply missed.

James was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Patricia Moore Marcellino. He is survived by his beloved wife, Chiqui; nephew, Mauro Marcellino of Manassas City, VA (Teresa); great nieces, Maura and Cecilia; sisters-in-law Beatriz Lindsey (Wayne) of Villa Rica, GA, Ana Maria Urrego of Bogata, Colombia, and nephew Hernan Gonzalez. James had numerous friends and will be missed throughout the community. The goodness of James will live on through the lives he touched.
