James Morgan

James Morgan, age 78, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was of the Baptist faith. Member of Unaka Masonic Lodge #651 for 50+ years and was a past Master. He was also a member of the Eastern Star #324 along with his wife and daughter. His hobbies included building custom log homes and restoring the Chief John Ross house in Rossville, GA along with his father and brothers.

Preceded in death by wife, Rita Mae Morgan, parents, Osborn and Dorothy Stuman Morgan, sisters, Josephine Morrow, Kathern Canada, brother, John Morgan, granddaughter, Kayla Michelle Watson.

Survivors, son, Kenneth Morgan, daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Tim Henry, sons and daughter-in-law, Osborn and Michelle Morgan, Wesley Morgan, Watty Eugene Morgan, Christopher Shane Beck Morgan, grandchildren, Sandy Walker, Jager Locklear, Victoria Henry, Hannah Henry, Jaden Dallas Driver, Colton Riley Driver, Addalyn Elizabeth Driver, Lilith Eubanks, Alexis Eubanks, Analynn Eubanks, great-granddaughter, Izabella Locklear, great-grandson, Samuel Maeson Hunt, brothers and sisters-in-law, Thad Morgan, Larry Morgan, Bobby and Sue Morgan, Scottie Morgan, sisters and brothers-in-law, Elden and B.W. Ledford, Wanda and Cecil Self, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Ralph Patton and Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Interment to follow service at Eleazar Cemetery. Masonic Service will be conducted at 1:45 P.M. Wednesday. Family will receive friends 12:00 – 1:45 P.M. Wednesday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains.
